Aromatherapy
Besides adding wonderfully soothing aromas to your massage, essential oils offer healing benefits as well. The absolute & essential oils used in Aromatherapy are distilled from plants that come from every continent on the globe. Each essential oil comes from a specific plant and contains a vibrant aromatic energy. The plant's essence molecules are approximately 75-100 times more concentrated as an essential oil than in the dried. By giving the plant its aromatic essence, they are also thought to give the plant its "life force". They also protect the plant from parasites and disease, and play an important role in fertilization and assisting the plant's adaptation to its environment. In the field of Aromatherapy it is held that in skin care essential oils regulate the activity of capillaries and restore vitality to the tissues. In Maguerite Maury’s Guide to Aromatherapy, she states “essential oils are natural rejuvenating agents which facilitate the elimination of waste matter and dead cells and promote the regeneration of new and healthy cells.

Cranio-Sacral® Massage
A gentle touch method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the central nervous systems

Deep Tissue Massage
A technique that releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas, either following or going across the grains of muscles, tendons and fascia.

Hot Stone Massage
An authentic hot stone massage is not simply the "gliding" of heated stones lightly upon the surface of the skin, but rather the stones are used as tools to deliver effective tissue and muscle massage at a pressure level comfortable to the client. The client can request light, medium or deep pressure, which is the beauty of the hot stone massage technique. It can be customized in an instant to the request of the client. The heat from the stones relaxes muscles and increases blood flow to the area being worked on which further accelerates the healing process. This increase in circulation and the relaxation of the muscles also aids in mental and nervous system relaxation.

Myofascial Release
A form of bodywork using long stretching strokes that seeks to rebalance the body by releasing tension in the fascia/connective tissue.

Shiatsu Massage
(also called acupressure) A Japanese system of applying finger pressure to specific points that lie along specific meridians.

Sports Massage
A kind of massage therapy that focuses on muscle systems relevant to a particular sport. It involves different massage approaches while an athlete is in training, during sports activity and after a sport event.

Swedish Massage
A system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints. The four strokes of Swedish massage are effleurage, petrissage, friction and tapotement.

Trigger Point Massage
Irritated area in muscle fibers that when compressed may elicit pain or a twitching response.

Trigger Point Therapy
(also known as Myotherapy or Neuromuscular Therapy) A method that applies concentrated finger pressure to trigger points to break cycles of spasm and pain.

Thai Massage and Shiatsu
Modalities deeply influenced by Indian Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine that have been in use for more that 2,500 years. The foundation of the work is recognition of heart and spirit in the human experience, and has long been referred to as the practical expression of loving kindness. This treatment style is slow, deliberate, gentle, non-invasive, and promotes a harmonious state of being.
