Aimee studied at the Utah College of Massage Therapy in Salt Lake City 1999 upon graduation from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 1997. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Family Social Science and specialized in Geriatrics. During her college years she lived a block away from a massage school specializing in Shiatsu where she first began experiencing the benefits of massage. A traveler at heart she moved around the country working at day spas in Montana, North Carolina, and Virginia. Arriving in Portland in 2006 she attended Oregon School of Massage to fulfill an additional 90+ hour state certification requirement to become licensed in Oregon. During her training at O.S.M. she worked at Pacific NW Pilates in an administrative position and became committed to incorporating Pilates into her own self-care routine. Aimee believes that to stay healthy while working within the field of massage therapy self-care is of the utmost importance. A daily meditation practice incorporating mudras, visualization, and yoga/pilates keeps her feeling grounded in mind and body. She provides an eclectic mix of modalities including: Swedish, Trigger Point, Craniosacral, Accupressure, Reiki, and Sports massage.
"My intention with massage is to promote healing and wellness with integrity and compassion, by allowing the client to guide me in every session. Each day I experience greater confidence and insight into the depth at which massage supports our capacity for health and well-being. I believe that massage can create a space to allow for healing in the physical, mental, and emotional realms. What I love most about this work is the ability to let go of ego and allow the client to be the catalyst for their own health and healing."
